Product Description

Porcelain Repair Kit

Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns have been used as predictable materials since the 1960s, owing to their mechanical strength and low cost. However, porcelain veneer failure has been reported as the major cause for the replacement of metal-ceramic restorations. The immediate replacement of failed complex prostheses is often impossible though, as it requires additional time, effort, and expense.

In this situation, repair is a suitable method to rehabilitate the contour and color of fractured restorations. Such repair demands durable bonding, even though it is not a permanent treatment.

Instructions:

First rough the surface of metal with bur (can create small holes for micro-mechanical bonding)

1. Prepare the bevel around fractured ceramic edges and apply hydrofluoridric acid for 1 minute, after that wash and air dry

2. At ceramic surface: you need to apply Silano, wait for one minute

3. At metal surface [if exposure in on stress bearing area or larger portion of metal is exposed]: you need to apply MZ Primer{Metal primer}, wait for 3 min, air dry it

4. After that, apply the adhesive ( over the ceramic and metal) and light cure it

5. Over the metal, apply OPAK, if you need to mask the metallic surface

6. Cover with the selected composite to match the shade and promote the finishing
